I have been involved in journalism since Grade 9 when I became a staff writer for my high school's publication The Standard. 

Ever since I was a child, I loved to write. Writing, whether it be in the form of short stories, essays or journalism, is an enormous part of what motivates and excites me. However, becoming an editor in Grade 10 was a turning point for me. Being surrounded by such passionate, determined and talented co-editors fueled my passion for journalism and ignited my desire to continue to learn and inform my community about local and global perspectives, issues and events through the scholastic world of journalism. 

Journalism is the cornerstone of a functioning society and serves as a priceless platform to inform, share perspectives and shape the course of the future.
